We currently raise our poultry on leased land in Pink, OK. We are 1st generation farmers who currently hold other jobs while we work to make the farm our full-time career. We have one daughter, Ruby, who is our lovely assistant, and we have one more child on the way. Some highlights of our practices are listed below.
Our chickens are raised in portable 10’X12′ hoop shelters moved daily to fresh grass. This is the major distinction of our chicken. It is hard to comprehend what this one management practice adds to the health of the chicken, the land and the eater. Incidentally, our pastures are not subjected to herbicides or other chemicals.
For us, GMOs just mean more chemicals, unanswered questions about side effects and furthering the industrial system. So, we took the trouble and expense to get non-GMO feed.
We currently use a small USDA processor that does not use bleach or other chemicals in their facility. They use peroxide and vinegar for sanitation.
If you have any questions, concerns or wish to visit the farm, please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange it. Thank you for your support!
