Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Happy Spring Equinox! Happy Easter or Resurrection Sunday!

Celebrate these holidays by ordering a plaque in stone or wood or green plexiglass from Lizard’s Laff.
I think GREEN is an appropriate color for all these festivals, whether you think of it as the green plants sprouting out of the soil in the springtime (like the shamrocks of the old sod in Ireland) or the green grass in your child’s Easter Basket.

St. Patrick’s Day is Thursday, March 17, which also happens to be OK Food Co-op’s Delivery Day, so still not too late to order something green saying, “Luck of the Irish” or “Erin go Bragh” or more correctly, “Éirinn go Brách”

Spring Equinox, or the First Day of Spring is Sunday, March 20, 2016 ~ From the Latin, the word Equinox translates as “Equal Night” meaning both day and night will be 12 hours in length. This can be celebrated by striving for balance in one’s life; intellectual/emotional, work/play; you fill in whatever area where you may need balance in your own life. Celebrate with a plaque saying, “Happy Spring!”

Easter is Sunday, March 27 this year. Easter is dependent on the Vernal, or spring Equinox, since the date is calculated as the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox. How about a plaque saying “Happy Easter!”?

Friday, April 1 is April Fools Day! What kind of prank do you want to pull? Switch the sugar for the salt? Or let Lizard’s Laff make a plaque with a funny saying in stone or wood for a friend or relative. “I am a Fool for Love!” “Who’s the Fool now?”

Monday, April 18 is Federal Income Tax Day ~ Celebrate your refund! “I gave at the office” could be on your plaque of stone or wood. Also, “Procrastinators Celebrate” possibly adding, “when we get around to it.”

Friday, April 22, is Earth Day ~ started in 1970 by the late great Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin. This will occur the day after the April delivery day of Thursday, April 21st, but it’s not too early to start thinking about it now. By reusing the earth’s resources we leave much behind for future generations. Buy a plaque of stone, wood or green plexiglass that has been repurposed, and saved from the landfill. The stone is left over from bigger jobs; the wood used to be a fence; and the plexiglass is found material.

“Go Vegan ~ the best thing you can do for the environment!”

Whatever you’re celebrating, make it more memorable with a stone saying or wood burning or words on green plexiglass from Lizard’s Laff!
